On June 8th I flew out to Chicago to attend The Makeup Show at the Bridgeport Art Center for the very first time. For those who are unfamiliar, The Makeup Show is a traveling beauty event featuring key note speakers, demos, exhibitors, and networking for those in the beauty industry. Basically, it’s a makeup artists dream come true with companies giving discounts on products and being able to get up close and personal with celebrity artists.
Last weekend I collaborated with Vain Salon and Mad Chicken Studio, some of my very favorite talented people in the business, on a creative photo shoot with Rachel as our astounding model. I had the concept of doing a very summer feeling makeup look featuring nautical inspired details. This is what I came up with and seeing as it has a prominent “red, white, and blue” color palette I thought no better day to post than the 4th of July, Independence Day. Below you will find all the products I used to achieve this nautical/patriotic makeup look.
In November 2011 I participated in a competition of sorts between local salons, stylists, and photographers called Project Style, hosted by Lake Superior Weddings and Events magazine, and the contest winners were awarded with ad space in the magazine as well as having their look featured.
