The Makeup Show Chicago, 2013

On June 8th I flew out to Chicago to attend The Makeup Show at the Bridgeport Art Center for the very first time. For those who are unfamiliar, The Makeup Show is a traveling beauty event featuring key note speakers, demos, exhibitors, and networking for those in the beauty industry. Basically, it’s a makeup artists dream come true with companies giving discounts on products and being able to get up close and personal with celebrity artists.

It was definitely an experience to say the least. There was quite the crowd and I found myself rushing from one forum to the next while trying to squeeze in some speed shopping in between, sometimes only having 5 minutes until the next class. With some of the lines requiring an hour or more of waiting it became a test of time management, forcing myself to walk away from all the pretty displays to attend workshops that, in the end, were much more valuable. I did manage to snap some photos for you guys as well as snag some goodies for myself of course (Haul blog found here).

In the end I left with not only a bunch of exciting new products to try but also a major injection of inspiration. These events always give me the boost I need to rejuvenate my enthusiasm for what I do, being around all my peers and seeing others who have achieved the success I crave in this business inspires me to work harder and rededicate myself to my craft. I couldn’t be more proud to be a makeup artist and can’t imagine being in any other industry. As always, thank you all for your continued support, it means more to me than you could ever know.
