Styled Nautical Shoot: Rachel | Duluth, MN Makeup Artist

Here are a few shots from a shoot I did with Mad Chicken Studio and Vain Salon last year.  I was going for a 40’s concept style with a sexy modern nautical influence.  Whether or not that was projected clearly this was a really casual fun shoot and with a model like Rachel it was impossible for it not to turn out beautifully.  Shooting took place along Park Point in Duluth, Minnesota.

The Makeup Show Chicago, 2013

On June 8th I flew out to Chicago to attend The Makeup Show at the Bridgeport Art Center for the very first time. For those who are unfamiliar, The Makeup Show is a traveling beauty event featuring key note speakers, demos, exhibitors, and networking for those in the beauty industry. Basically, it’s a makeup artists dream come true with companies giving discounts on products and being able to get up close and personal with celebrity artists.

Nautical Styled Shoot: Rachel | Duluth, MN Makeup Artist

Last weekend I collaborated with Vain Salon and Mad Chicken Studio, some of my very favorite talented people in the business, on a creative photo shoot with Rachel as our astounding model.  I had the concept of doing a very summer feeling makeup look featuring nautical inspired details.  This is what I came up with and seeing as it has a prominent “red, white, and blue” color palette I thought no better day to post than the 4th of July, Independence Day.  Below you will find all the products  I used to achieve this nautical/patriotic makeup look.

Old Arizona Wedding Shoot [Photo Shoot]

Last Fall I stumbled upon a post by photographer Brie Cohen seeking a makeup artist for a styled wedding shoot in Minneapolis.  Fast forward a few months and these photos were the result!  The photos were shot at Old Arizona, a unique and interesting venue featuring a cafe, wine bar, and dance studio as well.  If you’ve never had the pleasure, I highly recommend checking it out.  Thanks to everyone involved for making it a such a fun shoot!
