With Summer FINALLY here (for now) in Duluth I thought I would do a short post on a few of my all time favorite products for the sunny months.
When it’s hot out the last thing you want to be wearing is a mask of makeup that’s going to be a hassle to deal with as you sweat it off throughout the day. The key to surviving the heat and looking good at the same time is waterproof products and lightweight formulas.
The following are some of the go to items I use in my kit-
24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils by Urban Decay-$19
These guys come in every shade you could need, are creamy, and once set do not budge. The really bright colors are fun to use when you want to add some excitement to your summer look without being obnoxious. Personal favorites include Bourbon, Electric, and Mildew. You can find these at Sephora, Ulta, or directly from Urban Decay.
Cannonball Mascara by Urban Decay-$20
Ultra waterproof black mascara, need I say more? This is the only mascara I will use on wedding gigs. You can find this at Sephora, Ulta, or directly from Urban Decay.
Shadow Insurance by Too Faced-$18
Having issues keeping your eye makeup from creasing when your sweating like crazy? Layering this product underneath your shadows or liners will promise not only that they will last all day but also show up brighter and more vivid, great for anytime of year. This is available at Sephora, Ulta, or directly from Too Faced.
Fix+ by M.A.C-$10
This is basically a vitamin water for your skin that you mist yourself with. It won’t make your makeup last any longer but is incredibly refreshing when you need a quick pick me up. It contains soothing ingredients such as chamomile, cucumber, and green tea, which help revitalize your skin and reduce redness. A tip for the summer is storing your Fix+ in the fridge so it’s nice and chilled for whenever you need a cool down mist throughout the day! This can be found at M.A.C counters, standalone stores, or from their website.
My last suggestion to you is instead of wearing a heavy foundation to try something lighter like a tinted moisturizer. Not only will these allow your skin to breath easier but they also usually contain SPF to help protect your skin when you’re out in the sun more. An easy way to make your own tinted moisturizer is mixing your regular liquid foundation with your favorite sunscreen or moisturizer, ta-dah!
Enjoy the heat, feel beautiful, and stay safe.
